I've paticipated in the seminar held at den danske filmskolen for 2 days.
This was my first time to join such an event, and there were many participants from Scandinavian countries.
The guest of this seminar was Tim Squyres who is well-known for the movie editor of Hulk, Sense of sensibility, Syriana and so on.
The most impressive story to me was that a editor should not have his own style as long as he is an editor.
I support his opinion completely, because subject of the entertainment is every consumer, so as long as the creator keeps it in his mind such style cannot be obtained by him, I believe.
Besides that, the concept as conversion from meters to minutes and the importance for beginning to keep audience sit down were also interesting stories especially.
By the way, when I had a chance to greet him, I asked him whether he has something missing in digital editing environment comparing to analogue procedure.
His answer was No, so I could feel a relief that technology has been developing in the right way.
Eventually, it was really nice opportunity for me to be inspired by an expert in the field with which I am not familiar. And also it was nice chance to train my English language skill.
I feel like watchng more movies that he has been engaged with after I listened to his stories.
